Since the start of the Premier League season 2015-2016, Leicester City F.C. has been able to occupy one of the first places in the competition; Jamie Vardy, striker, scored 13 goals in the first eleven games, breaking the previous Ruud Van Nistelrooij’s record.

With a 2-3 victory against Everton at Goodison Park on the 17th match day, Foxes reached the first position. At the beginning of February 2016, with a couple of wins against Liverpool and mainly against Manchester City, second in the League at the time, Leicester consolidated the first position, obtaining a five points advantage and maintaining until he beginning of March. On the 3rd April 2016, Leicester defeated Southampton 1-0 in their own stadium, and thanks to a 1-1 draw between Liverpool and Tottenham, they increased to 7 points the distance between the other teams.

In the following match days Leicester continued getting positive results, keeping the leadership getting the direct access to the next UEfA Champions League 5 games before the end of the season. The advantage on Tottenham shrank to 5 points on the 34th match day, Foxes tied 2-2 against West Ham while Tottehham won 4-0 against Stoke City, but then Leicester’s 4-0 on Swansea City and at the same time Tottenham got a 1-1 draw with West Bromwich Albion.

On the 1st May 2016, with other 2 games to go, Leicester draw 1-1 at the ùold Trafford against Manchester United. The next day Tottenham tied as well with Chelsea, and the Foxies won mathematically the Championship.

The team, lead by the Italian manager Claudio Ranieri, who is now called King of England, conquered their first title in their history.
